ELIUD KIPCHOGE -BERLIN MARATHON WINNER RECEIVED BY H.E DOMINIC BIWOTT

H.E the Deputy Governor Nandi County Dominic Biwott addressing the press when he received athletes, Eliud Kipchoge, Philemon Rono and Emanuel Mutai at Eldoret International Airport.

Kipchoge won the Berlin Marathon in two hours and four minutes, just a minute outside countryman Dennis Kimetto’s fastest ever time at the Berlin race last year

In a runners’ version of a disastrous wardrobe malfunction, Kipchoge spent much of the second half of the race with both his insoles slipping out of his shoes. In one of his shoes, the insole began to free itself right from the start of the race.

INVITATION TO PARTICIPATE AND EXHIBIT IN NANDI COUNTY AGRICULTURAL SHOW AND TRADE FAIR, 2015

The Annual Nandi County Agricultural Show & Trade Fair 2015 will be held from 5th -7th November, 2015 at the Show Ground, Kapsabet.
The Theme of the Show is “Enhancing Technology in Agriculture and Industry for Food Security, National Growth and Heritage.”
This is therefore to invite you and your organization / institution to participate and exhibit during the show which targets between 10,000-15,000 shows goers. Exhibitors to bring in their exhibits on 4th November 2015 and judging is on 5th in the morning.
The annual rent for space is Ksh. 120 per sq. metre. This will come down significantly if you plan to put up a permanent structure which is strongly encouraged.

NANDI LEADERS URGE RESIDENTS TO LIVE IN HARMONY

Nandi residents have been urged to co – exist peacefully with all communities in the County. This was said by Nandi governor Dr Cleophas Lagat during the International Peace day.
Speaking during the event , Lagat said that peace was paramount for economic posterity in the County because when peace prevails the economy of the county will go up and livelihoods will be improved. Also present during the function was Nandi senator Stephen Sang who urged the entire leadership of the county to work hard in delivering services to the residents .Mr Sang warned those who were propagating and dividing communities along ethnic lines.
On her part, Nandi Women representative Zipporah Kering adviced bodaboda operators to be cautious of their health adding that ridding bodaboda for a lengthy period of time causes health complications such as chest problems.
Recently Kapsabet town witnessed unrest following insecurity cases after residents administered mob justice on suspected criminals who were alleged to have been colluding with some security officers. Police County Commander Mr. Kubai urged residents and bodaboda operators to observe traffic rules and avoid rampant mob justice to suspected criminals . ‘’You should not take the laws in your own hands , let the security officers play their part.’’ He added.

THREE KILLED, 10 OFFICERS INJURED FOLLOWING INSECURITY PROTEST BY KAMOBO RESIDENTS

Three suspects have been killed and 10 police officers injured by irate mob in Kamobo in Kapsabet Nandi County.The suspects are believed to be behind a series of brutal killings of boda boda operators in the town .

Angry mob engaged in running battles with the police following the arrest of suspects who are alleged to have been terrorizing the operators.

The residents pelted stones and overpowered the officers who were holding refuge the suspect prompting them to ran for safety. The mob then entered the station and lynched the suspect to death.Ten people were injured during the incident.

Those injured included Nandi central OCPD Joakim Mecha, Nandi Central DCIO Justus Nzelu and other police officers.

The incident comes barely day after a boda boda operator was attacked and injured by unknown gang. The operator sustained serious deep panga injuries on the head.

Confirming the incident Nandi central deputy Commissioner Mr. Richard Ajwang said that more than 3000 angry residents surrounded the police station baying for the suspect’s blood. According to Ajwang, residents demolished police structures leading to immediate temporary closure of Kamobo police post.

Ajwang called on the county leadership to mobilize residents to ensure the culture of togetherness and oneness is entrenched among residents in the largely cosmopolitan town of Kapsabet.

The residents decried rising insecurity cases in the town saying that many boda boda operators have lost their lives in the recent past.

KSH 500M READY FOR IMPLEMENTATION OF ALL WATER PROJECTS IN NANDI COUNTY, SAY GOVERNOR LAGAT

H.E the Governor Dr Cleophas Lagat yesterday made a courtesy visit to Kabisaga Ward (Mosop Sub-County).During his vist, HE pledged to fully implement all the water projects within the County. Speaking during the commissioning of completed Seretio water project in Kabisaga Ward, Lagat assured residents that all water project he initiated in the County will be finished.

The County has partnered with a number of sponsors namely; SNV Netherlands, Water Trust Fund, Lake Victoria North Water Service Board and Lake Victoria South Water Service Board. Recently Water Trust Fund signed an MoU with the County government of Nandi where it received Ksh 200 million to boost provision of clean water to the residents.

Moreover, cumulated Ksh 500 million plus the budgeted funds are now ready for implementation of all the initiated water projects in the County, said
Lagat.

Speaking at the same time Chairperson Lake Victoria North Water Service Board Hon Joseph Lagat, pledged that he will continue to support the County government in implementation of its water projects.
