COUNTY STRATEGIC LEAP TOWARDS PRIORITIZATION OF NUTRITION.

County Government of Nandi has made enormous steps towards investment in nutrition to accelerate economic development and reduce healthcare costs in the county.

In light of this, the county is committed in strengthening coordination between external partners to ensure the effective use of resources to combat nutrition challenges.

The County Secretary Dr Francis Sang hosted a team from Nutrition International led by the Country Director Martha Nyagaya and the Deputy Country Director Joy Kiruntumi who were in the county for a Nutrition Policy Inception meeting.

Dr Sang thanked Nutrition International for their continued support in nutrition programs noting that the county has put in place county-led plans and budgets, provided policy and legislative action required to entrench nutrition as a funded and high-priority area, to increase resources for the implementation of evidence-based and cost-effective high-impact nutrition interventions.

Present at the meeting were the Nutrition International Deputy Country Director Joy Kiruntumi, Deputy County Secretary Dr Lydia Kosgei, Chief of Staff Stanley Baliach, Ag CEC for Finance Rose Angira, Chief Officer for Health and Sanitation Fredrick Kiptum among other officials.
