Governor Sang Puts Unscrupulous Contractors On Notice

Governor Sang has made it a personal responsibility to get out of office to inspect ongoing projects across the country.

The Governor said his administration was keen on actualizing its promise to the people of Nandi and he will personally take charge of the delivery process.

“We promised our people development and we are actualizing it. I will be going round the county inspecting and supervising projects to ensure that they are of the required standards and are done in the stipulated time”

Governor Sang accompanied by Chief Officer for Roads Mr Tireito during an inspection tour of road projects across the county.

He has put contractors on notice and warned that any substandard work will not be paid.

“Contractors must know that any shoddy works will not be paid. My administration will only pay contractors who will have completed their works and in the required standards”

The Governor has also directed that before any project is commissioned, a public participation exercise must be conducted and a committee which will be motonitoring progress of the project is established.

“I have directed my COs to ensure that before projects commence, a public participation exercise must be done to give residents an opportunity to know what works are expected”

Sang said the committee will also be required to sign completion certificates before payment is made.

The Governor who was accompanied by the Chief Officer of roads Mr Tireito was speaking in the wards of Kilibwoni and Koyo Ndurio when inspecting the ongoing grading,gravelling and culvert installation of Arwos-katanin-Taleltany-Nganiat road and Sarma- kipkuti -chemamul road.
