NANDI COUNTY SET TO IMPROVE HEALTH FACILITIES

The County government of Nandi continues to equip health facilities across the entire county in an effort to improve and strengthen the quality of health care in the county.

Speaking after inspecting the ongoing construction of Kapsengere Health Centre in Terik Ward, the Chief Officer for Medical Services Dr. Paul Lagat said that the department of health and sanitation recognises that a healthy population is a basic human right and a force for development.

“Our focus is to boost preventive and curative health care services because the department of health and sanitation recognises that a healthy population is both a fundamental basic human right as well as a prerequisite to the development of our county,” said Dr. Lagat.

Access to quality and affordable healthcare remains a right to every citizen. Working round the clock to see that happens, the department of Health is ensuring that no patient has to walk no more than five kilometers to access healthcare services by opening up and increasing the number of health facilities.

Governor Sang’s administration had on assumption of office made it a priority to reposition the heath sector for quality healthcare service delivery. To this end, stalled projects are being completed and equipped in addition to refurbishing the existing ones.

Several other facilities in Nandi are set to be operationalized this financial year.
