Residents of Lelmokwo location in Lelmokwo /Ngechek Ward, Chesumei Sub County are the newest beneficiaries of maternity services closer home, with the opening of a new maternity wing at the newly upgraded Lelmokwo Health Center.

Governor Stephen Sang has termed the development as a step in the fulfillment of his agenda as well as the rights of citizens to access quality healthcare.

“We are strengthening maternal health in rural areas by improving access to maternity services in our health facilities across the county,” said Governor Sang.

The new maternity ward, is a step towards promoting access to medical services at the lower level health facilities in the spirit of Nandi County’s Universal Health Coverage model.

Lelmokwo/Ngechek Ward MCA Hon. David Bwambok Morogo lauded the government for fulfilling the promise of the facility to the residents, and encouraged them to make use of it.
