NURSING COUNCIL OF KENYA TEAM VISIT NANDI

Charged with the responsibility of regulating nursing and midwifery Education and practice in Kenya, which entails: registration and licensing of nurses and midwives for their eligibility to practice as competent nurses and midwives; enhancing competencies of nurses among other activities, the Nursing Council of Kenya is a key pillar in the realization of Universal Health Coverage (UHC).

The Nursing Council of Kenya team are currently in Nandi and Uasin Gishu counties to check on licensure status of nurses and midwives as well as graduate internship.

While receiving the council members in his office, the County Secretary Dr Francis Sang MBS thanked the council for it’s commitment to transformative devolved healthcare in line with the constitutional right of every Kenyan to access to the highest standard of quality healthcare.

The County Secretary, informed the council that the County Government of Nandi under the leadership of Governor Stephen Sang was dedicated to ensure the county achieves high standards of healthcare provision to the residents by recruiting competent nurses.

The NCK Team was led by Leonard Kipkurui Langat, Director, Registration and Licensing.

Also present at the meeting was Fredrick Kiptum, Director Administration, Finance and Planning at the Department of Health.
