SENSITIZATION SESSION WITH COMMUNITY INFLUENCERS & WOMEN LEADERS ON PREVENTION AND CONTROL OF COVID-19

In response to the growing Covid-19 pandemic, the County Department of Health in partnership with German organization DSW is raising awareness to prevent the spread of the disease.

In communities, COVID-19 is threatening the already fragile markets, food security and healthcare systems that people rely on.

COVID-19 prevention measures also have an effect on young and pregnant women, with their access to sexual and reproductive health (SRH) facilities and services now regulated more strictly due to risk of coronavirus infection.

One of the most effective ways to combat the spread of COVID-19 and limit its impact is by building people’s knowledge and awareness. The County Government is promoting preventative action in communities, including practising good hygiene and physical distancing measures, in line with national government guidelines and recognised best practice.

The department of health has held a series of sensitization forums targeting community resource persons in Nandi Hills, Chesumei and Mosop Sub Counties.
