Transforming Lives through Rehabilitation

The Nandi County Alcoholic Drinks and Control Directorate is exploring possibilities of partnering with the Mission of Hope Ministries; an initiative by a multi-denomination led by the Seventh-Day Adventist church, to identify and reclaim those affected by the menace of alcoholism in our society.

In an operation dubbed “Okoa Mlevi” scheduled for 29th July -4th Aug at Marcle School kapsabet, the government shall support the Mission of Hope Ministries in organizing this event which targets to rehabilitate over 400 alcoholics, illicit brewers and drug addicts across the County.

This will be achieved through spiritual empowerment, capacity building, counseling, entrepreneurship skills training and exemplary mentorship.

For over 4years, they have succeeded to change the stories of drug abusers in Nandi, Uasin Gishu and Kericho Counties.

“There is need to educate people against it, other than to arrest and charge these victims” said Pastor Salome of Namgoi SDA church during a meeting with directorate deputy director, and further explained that they also rehabilitate street kids and commercial sex workers, who by extension result from alcoholism and broken homes.
