Carolyn Chepchirchir Lagat, a Certified Public Accountant, currently holds the position of Chief Officer for Cooperative Development under the Department of Agriculture and Cooperative Development. With 15 years of career experience in Administration, Finance, and Accounts, Carolyn is recognized for her skills and qualifications as a finance professional. She is currently undertaking her Doctor of Philosophy studies in Finance (ongoing), showcasing her commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
Known for her proven ability to challenge and improve existing administrative and financial processes, Carolyn is poised to leverage her expertise for organizational leadership and financial strategies, contributing to the realization of ambitious plans. Her ultimate goal is to be a valuable mutual asset, providing efficient competencies and expertise that contribute to the growth and value of the company’s purpose and service delivery.
Carolyn holds a Masters in Business Administration with a Financial Management Option from the University of Eastern Africa (2013-2015). She acquired her Bachelor of Business Management – Accounting option from Moi University (2008-2011) and holds a Diploma in Computer Studies from the Technical University of Kenya.
Before assuming the role of Chief Officer, Carolyn served in various capacities, including Ag. Director of Gender and Social Welfare, Sub-County Administrator, and Part-time Lecturer at Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology. Prior to joining the county government, she worked as an Account Assistant at Nandi Pine and Timber Supplies and Rock Mirror Institute of Management.
