Mr. Kennedy Cheruiyot Tanui

KENNEDY CHERUIYOT TANUI holds a Masters in Education (Education Communication & Technology) from Kisii University.

Tanui holds a Bachelor of Education from the University of Nairobi. He attended Kaptel Boys High and Kapsisiywa Primary school.

He has worked as a lecturer at Kaiboi Technical Training Institute in the Department of Business Communication. He was also HOD Games at the Institute.

Tanui was appointed a Track Referee and Technical Committee Member at IAAF World Under 18 Championships in Nairobi.

In his line of profession, Tanui was appointed as the Head Coach for Team Kenya to IAAF World Marathon Championships 2016, in Cardiff City, UK. Kenya won in this competition.

Tanui was also appointed by the IAAF as the High Perfomance Training Centre Administrator in 2014 and worked as a Secretary General Athletics Kenya Central Rift Region, Sec. Gen Nandi County, and Chairman Mosop Sub County.

He was the Team Manager and Head Coach to World Indoor Championships in Poland in 2014. Additionally, Tanui was appointed the coach for Team Kenya to IAAF World Junior Championships in Barcelona in August 2012 where Kenya emerged second to the USA.

He was appointed by the Federation of International De Volleyball FIVB as an International Referee in 2011, International Technical Official from Africa by IAAF, and National Referee for 2011 FIVB Africa Cup of Club Senior Women Champions in Nairobi.

Tanui was awarded a diploma in recognition and appreciation for his contribution to the success of the 17th IAAF/CAA African Senior Athletics Championships where he served as a Call Room Referee.

He played for Chemilil Sugar Company Volleyball Team in the National Leagues from 1996 to 2003.

Tanui also participated in the Eastern Africa Inter-Universities Decathlons where he was position two in East Africa, 400 M and 110 M hurdles where he was the champion.

Tanui is married and blessed with Children.
